Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves The Three Musketeers
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves The Three Musketeers

Each is a tale of swashbuckling heroism where a ragtag band of heroes (Robin Hood and the Merry Men/D'Artagnan and the Musketeers) fight to stop a corrupt man of power (Sheriff George of Nottingham/Cardinal Richelieu) from taking power away from the king of their nation. (King Richard the Lionheart of England/King Louis XIII of France) He seeks to wed a woman of nobility (Maid Marian/Queen Anne) and has a chief enforcer played by Michael Wincott. (Sir Guy of Gisbourne/Captain Rochefort) The conflict culminates with a giant final battle at a castle, during which a lead hero (Robin/D'Artagnan) duels the man who had killed his father and taken his sword. (George/Rochefort) Though he is put on his back and looks to beaten he ultimately does manage to avenge his death with some help from his love interest (Marian/Constance) by ultimately striking down his opponent with a final unexpected and desperate attack. And a corrupt man of the cloth (The Bishop of Hereford/Richelieu) who appeals to that status for protection is confronted by a man of true faith (Friar Tuck/Aramis) who chastises him and ultimately finds himself launched over an edge to his death. In the end the attempted usurper as well as his followers are all put down and the heroes are honored by the king for their deeds.
