Each is the seventh installment produced in their respective franchises and the most critically praised among the sequels though controversial among the fans for their continuity dispensing natures. Both featured the return of key figures from the original films and marked an important anniversary for their franchises as whole. Each would center around the leading lady from the original film albeit not necessarily in the same form (Laurie Strode/Heather Langenkamp)
